News and Such

So on the newsfront, I have a steady gig. I found a job at USC (University of South Carolina, see previous post for rant on University of Southern California). I will be updating a web-site, then hopefully if the stars align, again, I will be moving to the project proper.

Go me.

Now you might be asking yourself ‘What is this project you speak of?’

For starters it’s called Virtual Test Bed. It is basically an alternative to MATLAB. If you don’t know what that is, there you go. If you know what it is, I ask you, “How cool is that?”

In other news, after completely divesting myself completely from Yahoo about a year ago, I am sad to say I came back. But in my defense it is for Flickr access. As you may or may not know I am @ian_greulich on Twitter. If you know what Twitter is, you might also know that it is limited to text only. If you don’t know what Twitter is, think of it as watching someone think, in text. Well I came across a site called Twittergram. It checks your Flickr rss feed once every 10 minutes, and updates your Twitter feed with the last new photo in the stream. Well Flickr is a great free online photo storage site, but if you have a lot of pictures it becomes a bit less great. You are limited to 200 viewable pictures at a time. Well I have a lot of pictures, so I use Picasa for my main online storage. But as it turns out that is not the world’s choice in online storage, Flickr is. So I signed up, and it will be my Twitter picture service.

So there it is.
